As we begin the month of May, Ontario remains at home under a lockdown order. In recent days while the number of new Covid cases has marginally improved in our Province, there is a mounting uneasiness as fear sets in for the safety of family and loved ones. As parents juggle schedules between working and caregiving, many are hopeful for renewed summer freedoms, day trip adventures, starry skies traveling in an RV and roasting marshmallows by the lake at the cottage.
May is also a month for Mothers. I would like to take a moment to say Happy Mother’s Day to all the Mom’s who do the impossible every day. Being a Mom is one of the most rewarding and agonizing jobs all rolled into one. On May 9th as a day for moms – I want to say thank you to my mom Linda – for teaching me the importance of family, hard work, love, and respect.
At ONroute, we are busy planning for our travellers with new brands and services to improve that first long weekend out of lockdown and kick off summer Stay-cay-Vay-cay 2021. Now is the time to research and plan your summer adventures as a family. Local attractions and artisans across Ontario will be ready post lockdown for all your adventures. Make stopping at ONroute part of your plan, our website has many articles, attractions, and a full map of all locations to preplan your visits at www.onroute.ca.
We plan to keep moving forward and to focus on all the exciting things happening in May. We are so excited to add Popeyes, and its famous chicken sandwich, to 10 ONroute plazas as part of our well-known world class line up of franchise partners. By May 24th, the following locations will be opened and ready to help satisfy your chicken cravings; Dutton, West Lorne, Barrie, Trenton North, Napanee, Odessa and Innisfil while Port Hope, King City and Cambridge North are open now to serve you, www.onroute.ca/brands/popeyes
As you plan for RV and cottage adventures, your local ONroute has added ‘grocery grab & go’ with a wide selection of fresh, frozen, pantry and cleaning items in our ONmarket for your convenience. With this expanded section, you can focus on packing the stuff that adventures are made of knowing that your local ONroute is “on it” with things you may have left behind.
Time between stops is always important to travellers. Use the Tim Hortons app to pre-order and select an ONroute location for pick up. Forget line-up frustration, I am also thrilled to announce we now have Double Drive Thru lanes for Tim Hortons at our King City, Port Hope, Barrie, and Innisfil ONroute locations to ensure you get your favourite morning fresh cracked eggs or nightly double double faster and easier.
