With the summer months now fully in swing, the warm weather is here at last! Over the last month, we’ve seen the continued gradual phased re-opening of the economy and many businesses across the province. There’s no question that this summer is very different for you and your loved ones. Vacations will be local or domestically-focused, road trips will be “go-to’s” for many families and planning for travel will require more steps ahead of time than ever before.

Dear ONroute Customers,

With the summer months now fully in swing, the warm weather is here at last! Over the last month, we’ve seen the continued gradual phased re-opening of the economy and many businesses across the province. There’s no question that this summer is very different for you and your loved ones. Vacations will be local or domestically-focused, road trips will be “go-to’s” for many families and planning for travel will require more steps ahead of time than ever before.

As a mom of two teenagers, I empathize with families and travellers alike who are coping with the “new normal” that we’ve all had to embrace. And in the summer months, when vacations and travel are such an important time for making memories, I understand the range of emotions that can come with having those plans change during these times.

I want to personally assure our customers that here at ONroute, we’re ON it and are doing everything we can to make summer travel in Ontario clean, safe, reliable, and smooth. We continue to offer 24/7 access to washrooms, food and beverage, picnic areas and greenspaces for eating and stretching between your destinations. Our plazas truly are intentionally curated to have what you need, when you need it while travelling.

The health and safety of our customers and employees is our #1 priority as we continue to closely monitor government updates and any changes in mandates across various regions in the province. This has included the mandatory requirement of masks in certain areas, which we fully recognize has been a difficult and at times frustrating reality. We truly appreciate the patience and cooperation of our customers during this time, and when there are updates to be given, they can all be found here.

We were also very excited to launch our new website at the end of June. We wanted to create an online space that was user-friendly, clear, helpful, and resourceful for the millions of travellers we see every year. In addition to hosting location information, details on our amenities and important updates, we’ve also introduced the ONroute blog where we’ll be sharing travel tips, destination inspiration, and what’s new at ONroute.

Whether you’re staycationing, taking a road trip, or doing daily commuting, we’re here for you and are proud to be a dependable place to stop along your journey. We appreciate the understanding of our customers during this time and know that together we can make the best of a different, yet still full of potential, summer of 2020.
