Goodbye 2020 and Welcome 2021!

I am sure many of us share this sentiment.  2020 will be forever remembered as the year that took over the world, that gripped us with a global pandemic but didn’t break our spirit. As we continue to navigate through the impacts, and continued spread of Covid-19, we cannot lose hope and we must continue to forge ahead, adapting our routines and daily lives to keep our communities and families safe.

The turning of the calendar is always somewhat symbolic for me. The holidays have always been a special time since I was a little girl, enjoying time together with loved ones and sharing many meals across the Christmas to New Year period. For decades it meant packing up a suitcase and heading abroad to source product for an upcoming season, but now, it means taking an optimistic and strategic view to our business ahead for summer 2021. Out of challenges, we can rise with optimism and hope, and make plans for a time when we can all enjoy the company of our extended families, sporting and musical events and travelling across our great province and country.

For now, as an essential service, our ONroute team are focused on providing a safe, clean and reliable place for you to stop on your journey because the safety of our customers and team members is our #1 priority. We are always open offering access to washroom, food, beverage and gas 24/7/365.

We are also busy at investing and planning for the future, including this upcoming summer season. We believe 2021 will be the year of Stay-cay-Vacay!  We are adding new and expanded drive-thru capabilities, new franchise partners and even mobile order ahead and pick up at ONroute. We are expanding our partnerships to support our travellers with items and services you need while in transit and on your journey from location to location.

At ONroute, we have put you - our Customer - at the heart of our planning and strategy for our business. We believe that travellers have a choice of where they stop, so every day we strive to be the safe and trusted partner of choice, delivering best in class on-trend highway services and amenities to support our customers as they make memories along their journey.

As we work to deliver our promise to every customer, every time, at every plaza across Ontario, we know there is always room for improvements. As we flip the calendar on a New Year, there are endless possibilities. We need to continue to band together as a greater community to keep our families, friends, neighbours and co-workers safe. Thank you to our healthcare providers and all essential service teams who are keeping Ontario going.  We are stronger together than apart, let’s work hard to make 2021 the year for change, growth and new beginnings. My team and I are planning for Summer 2021, because at ONroute, We’re ON it for you!
