While spring has officially arrived, many days it doesn’t feel like much has changed over the past 12 months. While we are welcoming of the warmer weather and sunny skies, a general fatigue has set in for most Ontarians.
But there is something about the feeling of spring and the warmth of the sun that lifts everyone’s spirit – perhaps adding a sense of excitement and hope for the summer ahead. We have been busy behind the scenes at ONroute, investing in and constructing new amenities and eagerly awaiting the May long weekend to ‘officially’ kick-off what we believe will be the year of Stay-cay-Vay-cay across Ontario.
I am excited to share what we have been working on over the past few months. While remaining open throughout the pandemic as an essential service provider, our teams have remained focused on providing a safe, clean, and reliable place for you to stop if you need to travel. We strive to be your trusted partner of choice, delivering best-in-class, on-trend highway services to support you – our customers.
We want to make it simple and easy for our customers and provide a variety of choices in meal options — and ordering options! You can now place your Tim Horton’s order on the “Tims App” and we will have it ready for you when you arrive at one of our 23 ONroute locations: Simply log into the Tim Horton’s App, select your ONroute location of choice, place your order and we will have it waiting for you to save you time. We also know waiting in drive-thru lines takes time – so we have added additional lanes in our Tim Hortons (now double drive-thru) at King City, Barrie, Innisfil and Port Hope (all opening by April 12), to ensure you get your favourites faster and more efficiently get on with your journey!
ONroute is thrilled to announce that we are investing in NEW amenities to serve you better. We will be opening Popeyes Louisiana Chicken at 10 of our locations near you. Watch for our opening announcements, (some by end of April), for you to enjoy a Popeyes famous chicken sandwich at ONroute, visit www.onroute.ca/brands/popeyes for more information.
We are also adding seven free-standing Starbucks drive-thru locations to our properties to deliver service for our customers’ favourite Starbucks hand-crafted beverages as you travel the 400 and 401. We are particularly excited for our customers who have asked for ONroute to bring the Starbucks brand east of Port Hope – we have heard you!! We have Starbucks drive-thrus planned in several locations throughout Prince Edward County this summer! Find the newest ONroute Starbucks near you at Starbucks - Locations - ONroute today.
We are working daily to expand inside our ONmarket and are bring a ‘grocery top-up product line’ this summer to support families planning on renting a cottage or RV this summer. You can count on ONroute to be so much more to meet your needs! Check back in my May blog for more exciting details on new products and partners coming soon to an ONroute near you.
In a hurry? In need of a quick coffee fix? ONroute has added a convenient self-serve coffee shop in all 23 locations that is open 24 hours where you can grab a coffee, hot chocolate or chai tea latte with pre-wrapped cups and tap payment for your safety. It’s easy to use and perfect for a quick grab ‘n’ go coffee option when short on time.
As many Ontarians look for work, we are also thrilled to announce we are hiring hundreds of seasonal team members for jobs across all 23 plazas along the 401 and 400. If you are an enthusiastic customer-focused person, who loves working in a fast-paced environment supporting travelers on their journey, then ONroute is where you need to be! Please visit https://ca.indeed.com/cmp/Onroute-1 for all available positions.
As you plan your journey, or your Summer Stay-cay-Vay-cay trips, know that at ONroute we have you covered from your favourite brands for everyone in your family, to satisfying that hand-crafted beverage as you go through our new drive-thrus, because at ONroute we are so much more than you remember!
