CEO’s Corner: October 2020

December 22, 2020

Fall has arrived with a new crispness to the air and a bouquet of colors painting local trees throughout Ontario. Routines for many families are now emerging, embracing the ‘new normal’ of back to school in 2020. With the many uncertainties we find ourselves in currently, it is hard to deny that now more than ever, getting outside this time of year is invigorating with nature offering so much beauty.

Like the changing of the seasons, we have been busy at ONroute making changes to our offerings to better meet the needs of our customers as you travel. I am particularly excited and proud that we have now opened additional partnerships with New York Fries and Subway at many of our locations. As a mom, I know as well as anyone, time is a precious commodity. So with you in mind, our team has been busy adding new assortments to our ONroute Market daily to support our travellers with basic items like cases of water, sanitizers and an array of healthy snacks including Freshii to-go. This year, we are proud to support local by offering Ontario grown bagged apples and an assortment of pumpkins at your neighboring ONroute throughout October.

Our continued focus during this ever changing time is your safety. For those that must travel, know that at ONroute you have a safe, convenient place to stop with clean restrooms and protocols to keep you and your family safe when you are on the road. This fall, stop at your local ONroute, grab your favorite drink like an apple cinnamon tea, and enjoy the convenience of our drive-thru as you are out and about appreciating the fall colors. Wherever your travels take you and your family, know that at ONroute, we’re ON it and are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Throughout this time of year, focus on being thankful, take a moment, pause, and give thanks for those in your life that bring you joy. Thank you to our front-line health care workers, essential service providers, and for those that give selflessly of themselves for others. I am blessed and thankful for my family, friends and neighbors, as well as my extended ONroute family across all of our 23 locations. During days of uncertainty, these are the rocks that stabilize our foundation – pay forward your thanks to those ‘rocks’ in your life.

We look forward to welcoming you soon at an ONroute along your journey, and wish you a safe, healthy, and thankful October.
